Ghana goalkeeper Fatau Dauda will be number one goalkeeper for his new club Chippa United, according to the clubââ¬â¢s boss Siviwe ââ¬ËChippaââ¬â¢ Mpengesi.
Mpengesi claimed they have signed the 29-year-old on a two-year deal from giants Orlando Pirates.
ââ¬ÅHe is a quality goalkeeper and he is also Ghanaââ¬â¢s number one goalkeeper, so it makes sense for us to make him our number because of his experience. Iââ¬â¢m happy to have a player of Daudaââ¬â¢s quality in my team,â⬠said Mpengesi.
Yesterday, a source close to Pirates told the crew that the Ghanaian goalkeeperââ¬â¢s move to the Chilli Boys was a loan deal, however the crew can now confirm that it is in fact a permanent deal.
ââ¬ÅAll I can confirm at this stage is that Dauda will be joining us on permanent basis, but the paperwork surrounding his contract will be finalised once I return overseas,â⬠said Mpengesi.
ââ¬ÅWeââ¬â¢re tired of these loan deals because they compromise the team in the long run. Look at what happened to Aces last season, they had many good players on loan from other clubs and now these players are back with their clubs and they are forced to go to the market again.
ââ¬ÅI donââ¬â¢t want that to happen to us, hence most of the players I brought in this season are on permanent contracts,â⬠concluded Mpengesi.
