Christian Atsu: Ghana star sees full time action as Everton is humiliated at Swansea City in English League Cup
Christian Atsu completed the game for Everton

Ghana star winger Christian Atsu completed the entire duration of the game Everton as they crashed out of the English League Cup after losing 3-0 at Swansea City on Tuesday night.

The 22-year-old Chelsea loanee was handed a starting berth by manager Roberto Martinez and completed the full 90 minutes but he could not alter the fate of the game for the Toffees as Swansea picked a crucial win to seal their place in the next stage of the competition.

Atsu had come in for criticism following his debut Premier League start over the weekend but manager Martinez says he was impressed with individual displays.

"I'm disappointed in the result but not the night. Some individual performances were pleasing," he said in the post-match presser.

Atsu must now beat off competition from experienced winger McGeady and returning South African winger Steven Pienaar to command a starting place at Everton.
