GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal that Marcel Desailly will bring in ex-Chelsea assistant coach Ray Wilkins as his deputy if he is named Ghana's coach.

The former France international is expected to be approached over the vacant Black Stars coaching position in the coming days.

Keen on making an impact in the aftermath of Goran Stevanovic's dismissal, Desailly wants to assemble the best staff to take the Black Stars to the next level, friends of the ex-France captain have told Ghana's leading football news website.

The insiders told GHANAsoccernet.com that Desailly's experience of working with Wilkins at Chelsea has convinced him that he can help him deliver.

Desailly it is understood will pay his English assistant.

Wilkins is also known to several Ghanaian players already because of his close relationship Michael Essien during the Jose Mourinho era at Chelsea.

But the fate of the current coaching staff of the Black Stars is not known if Desailly is appointed.

Wilkins helped Mourinho in his popular stint in England and helped the club to win the 2009/2010 league title.

He quit the club some few years ago over a disagreement with the club but he is still popular with the Chelsea players because of his output.

The Ghana FA is expected to name a new coach within three weeks.
