Striker Bernard Dong Bortey is thrilled with his rich vein of form at Ghanaian champions Aduana Stars and says he still has the attributes to play top tier football.

The former Ghapoha and Hearts of Oak marksman hogged the headline with a brace for champions Aduana Stars in a 2-0 win over giants Asante Kotoko at last Sunday.

Bortey has been played a key for the Dormaa-based side since joining them at the beginning of the season.

His impressive form has earned him a call up in the preliminary local Black Stars squad for next year's CHAN tournament in Libya.

The 27-year-old is excited at regaining the verve that typified his play five years ago in the League.

"A lot was said about me in the past but now I am happy I’ve put everything behind me and playing like I used to. Coming to Aduana Stars was the right decision that I took and I’m happy it’s yielding dividends," Bortey told Ghanasoccernet.com

"I've scored against Kotoko many times in the league spanning from my time at Ghapoha and Hearts of Oak, but the two goals against them was very special for me."

Aduana currently lie fourth on the league table and travel to Liberty Professionals next Sunday in Accra.
