EXCLUSIVE: Swedish giants AIK loan out Ghanaian defender Kpozo to Norwegian side Tromso

Published on: 28 March 2017

Swedish outfit AIK Stockhom have farmed out Ghanaian defender Patrick Kpozo on a short-term loan to Norwegian side Tromsø Idrettslag, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The 19-year-old will stay with the club until July 20 with Tromsø Idrettsla holding the aces to make the deal permanent.

The hugely talented Ghanaian defender endured lack of playing opportunities, leading to the decision to seek a new adventure elsewhere.

The future of Kpozo was up in the air after he was left out of the team's training tour of Dubai last month.

The Norwegian league will provide a good environment for the Ghanaian who made 15 appearances for AIK since joining from Inter Allies in 2015.

"He needs more playing time to take the next step, says sports director Björn Wesström."

"It is estimated that Tromsø will provide the environment that is good for Patrick in the short term and for AIK in the long term."

The left-back is expected to hone his talent in the Norwegian top-flight during the short-loan spell.
