Hearts of Oak defender Fatau Mohammed says he is ready to extend his contract with the club ahead of next season.

Fatau was one of the Phobians most impressive players in the just ended Ghana Premier League, helping them to a 3rd place finish.

The right back's contract with the club ended after the final game of the season and reports went rife in the media that talks between his representative and the club hit a snag.

But the 25-year-old has however revealed that he's ready to extend his stay at the club if he fails to travel outside adding that the Phobians tabled GHC 25,000 for a new deal, but he wants the club to up their offer.

“It is either I travel abroad or it is Hearts of Oak, it is not true I travel to Saudi Arabia I’m in Tamale doing personal things and negotiating for contract renewal,” he told Nhyira FM.

“Hearts of Oak has offered me an amount and I have asked them to top it because it is Hearts of Oak I will play if I don’t travel abroad. I don’t see why I should play other team locally.”

He continued, “At worst I will close my eyes and die for Hearts of Oak but you know the economic conditions in Ghana now so I have asked them to do something about the GHC 25,000.”
