Former Ghana forward Lloyd Owusu has set up a football firm in Australia after a glittering football career.

The firm located in Sydney- Australia is named XL Soccer and Coaching center, where services include coaching and player consultancy.

“I’m loving life in Sydney, Australia, director of XL Soccer and coaching at Cranbrook School Rose Bay. I also do player consultancy, Owusu Management Services,” he advertised on his profile on LinkedIn.

Owusu also works as a teacher at Cranbrook School, where he is listed on LinkedIn as a General Duties Master.

The 42 year old started out his career in non league playing for Slough, but wound up making 367 senior starts for 13 different clubs, bagging 150 goals in the process. He went from Slough Town to Adelaide City, from Paphos to Hayes and Yeading. Eventually, one of his moves abroad would shape his career after football.

The infamous Brentford chairman Ron Noades first discovered Owusu playing for Slough, signing him for the Bees in 1998. It was at Griffin Park he enjoyed the best of his senior football, hitting 25 goals in his opening season and scoring 64 in total during his stay.

That form earned him a move to Sheffield Wednesday where he achieved instant cult hero status by scoring sixty seconds into his debut against Sheffield United.

From there his career became one of a journeyman, moving from club to club each season. Loan spells at Cheltenham (7 in 16) and Brighton (7 in 14) were relatively prolific, but permanent moves didn’t always work out, with spells back at Brighton and at Yeovil bringing a goal every four games.

He tried his luck in Greece with Paphos and with Adelaide in Australia, never truly settling and always with one eye on his next move.
