The President of the Ghana FA Kwesi Nyantakyi has rubbished reports that the football federation has failed to legally compel telecommunication giants Glo to pay the remaining part of their sponsorship package following their withdrawal from the deal three years ago.

The telecom giants signed a five year deal with the Ghana FA to sponsor the Ghana Premier League and the Black Stars in 2013.

After spending three years in the deal, the telecom giants pulled out of the deal compelling the Ghana FA to sue the company.

Many have argued that the football association has ignored the telecom giants after reports emerged that they have sued the company.

But the Ghana FA Boss has disclosed that the telecom giants do not owe the Ghana Premier League, rather the Black Stars

“Our issue with Glo is still in court. But let me be quick to say that they don’t have any engagement with the Ghana Premier League. Rather it is the Black Stars. So people must get it clear,” he told Starr FM.

“Why are we in court with Glo? We are in court with them because they have not paid the money. It is not true that we have received the money.

“The clubs have been paid. As far as the league is concerned they’ve paid all monies. “What is left to be paid is outstanding monies for the Black Stars,” he added.
