Ghana coach Avram Grant has labelled Atletico Madrid star Thomas Partey as one for the future following the youngster's impressive debut for the Black Stars on Sunday.

Partey, 22, climbed off the bench in the 82nd minute to replace Anderlecht star Frank Acheampong at the Stade George V as the Black Stars claimed a 2-0 win to seal their 21st AFCON finals.

The Atletico Madrid star was among debutante trio - Astana's Patrick Twumasi and AshantiGold defender Mohammed Kadri, who were named in the 23-man squad for the game.

Ghana coach Avram Grant revealed in a post-match interview with journalist Moses Antwi Benefo in Port Louis he has been following the exploits of the midfielder dynamo and tips him for greatness.

"He [Partey] is a good player. He is one for the future and he did well with a lot of promise. I have been watching him for a long time," he said after the game.

The former Tema Youth midfielder lived up to the hype around as he showed some good display in the few minutes handed him in the game.
