Ghana's hopes of playing key defender Isaac Vorsah in the World Cup in June has been thrown into serious doubt after his Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg revealed he will not be available for selection in the ââ¬Ëforeseeable futureââ¬â¢.
The 25-year-old was expected to return to the pitch after he recovered from a six-month long injury lay-off.
But the Austrian giants are seeking to sign a replacement for the centre-back before the transfer window shuts because of uncertainty over Vorsah return to action since suffering a serious knee injury.
Vorsah was made to travel with the team to their winter pre-season in Qatar which sparked hopes that he could be fit for the World Cup
However the clubââ¬â¢s sporting director Ralf Rangnick has revealed the Ghanaian international is not expected to the pitch anytime soon.
ââ¬ÅIsaac Vorsah will not be available to us in the foreseeable future and on Rodnei we have to wait. During the next two to three days we will make a decision,â⬠Rangnick is quoted byà Laola1.at.
The Austrian powerhouse are already in the market scouring for Vorsahââ¬â¢s replacement as his recovery has delayed.
The former TSG Hoffenheim defender is desperate to be full fit ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in June.
