Ghana international Jordan Ayew has expressed delight at the opportunity to rub shoulders with the best in the world as he closes in on an astonishing move to Aston Villa.

Jordan is coming in as a direct replacement for Belgian forward Christian Benteke who switched to Liverpool in a £ 32.5 million deal last week.

Villa coach Tim Sherwood is a staunch admirer of the Marseille trainee and is funding the move with some of the money received for Benteke.

Jordan who is the younger brother of Swansea City forward Dede Ayew has expressed delight in the opportunity to continue his development in the world’s most dramatic league.

“I’m delighted to have arrived in the UK and to have the opportunity to join a club the size of Aston Villa.”

“I’m looking forward to meeting the manager and I’m very excited about playing in the best league in the world.”

“I’m sure with the new players that Aston Villa are bringing in that we can all work together to make it a great season for a great football club.”

Ayew-23-years old scored a total of 13 goals in the French Ligue 1 last season.
