Hearts of Oak fans stormed the club's secretariat in the morning

Hearts of Oak fans have reinstated David Duncan as the coach of the side – usurping the board’s decision to terminate the coach’s contract.

The supporters charged into the residence of the ex AshantiGold trainer on Saturday morning to beg for his return.

This was after the incensed supporters had stormed the club’s secretariat to make their protest official to the club’s management.

The fans met with the club’s Managing Director Neil Armstrong Mortagbe at the club’s secretariate under the police protection where they made it clear they wanted Duncan back with immediate effect.

The Managing Director assured the fans, their protest will be looked into while asking them to rescind their decision to withdraw their support for the team for Sunday’s game at Amidaus Professionals.

The fans then continued with their match to Duncan’s private residence where they managed to secure his pledge to return to the Phobian bench at the Tema Park on Sunday.

This decision according to sources will be made official at a planned emergency board meeting on Monday.

The Hearts of Oak fans are incensed with the board’s decision to ‘mutually’ terminate the appointment of the ex national team coach.

He was appointed just over a year ago at a time the side was in free fall in the Premier League.

Duncan however managed to keep the side afloat and now turn them into a title-chasing side.

Hearts are currently second in the Ghana Premier League – four points adrift leaders Asante Kotoko.
