With the January transfer window set to open, David Amoyal sorts through the speculation and rates how likely it is that these rumoured moves take place.
Joao Mario to Man United: 40 percent
The Portuguese international has lost his starting job at Inter after the arrivals of Borja Valero and Matias Vecino. Old Trafford could be a destination because of Jose Mourinho's close ties to Inter, as well as the fact that they can afford the remaining amortized value of his previous transfer fee, which is around 30 million euro. Inter could also have interest in Matteo Darmian as part of the deal, given that Joao Cancelo and Dalbert have struggled to adapt to Serie A.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to Liverpool: 10 percent
The 22-year-old midfielder is one of the most sought-after players in Serie A and his combination of height, strength, technique and vision make him an ideal fit for the Premier League. But after signing an extension last April, Milinkovic-Savic is expected to complete the season at Lazio, who are still in the Europa League and chasing a Champions League spot in Serie A. By next summer, his valuation may be out of Liverpool's reach, especially after they spent significantly to sign Naby Keita.
Alex Sandro to Premier League: 10 percent
Chelsea made a substantial offer to acquire the Brazilian left-back last summer and Manchester United recently hired former Juventus scout Javier Ribalta, so it's not surprising to see Alex Sandro linked with both clubs, both of which could use an upgrade at his position. Juventus are determined to keep the former Porto defender at least until the end of the season, when Leonardo Spinazzola's loan at Atalanta expires; considering they are in contention on all fronts, it's unlikely Alex Sandro will move in January.
Mauro Icardi to Real Madrid: 5 percent
He has had numerous offers to leave Inter in previous years when the club was struggling but, while Icardi has flirted with the possibility, it was mainly to improve his bargaining position during contract negotiations. And though he is not cup-tied in Europe, it's highly unlikely Icardi will leave, especially in midseason and with Inter contending for the Serie A title. Instead, it is likelier he'll sign a new contract while significantly increasing his 100m euro exit clause.
Javier Mascherano to Hebei China Fortune: 55 percent

After losing his starting job to Samuel Umtiti, the versatile Mascherano became intrigued with a transfer to Asia, but the injury suffered by the former Lyon center-back will likely delay the move. Timing is key with this potential move; Umtiti is expected to return at the end of January and Barcelona intend to keep Mascherano until that happens but, considering the transfer window in China is open until the end of the following month, there's wiggle room to ensure everyone gets what they want.
Patrice Evra to Galatasaray: 35 percent
The former Manchester United captain has been available on a free transfer since Marseille terminated his contract for kicking a fan. Though Evra is 36, his preference is to continue playing and he has demonstrated that by the fact he hasn't stopped training. The French left-back could be a good stop-gap option for Galatasaray, who also continue to pursue his former Juventus teammate Kwadwo Asamoah, who has an contract, for next season.
Sebastian Giovinco to Europe: 20 percent
Having just won MLS Cup and with an MVP award in his pocket from 2015, it could be argued that Giovinco has accomplished his mission in Toronto. But, while he could decide to return to Europe and compete in a top league while increasing his chances of playing for the Italian national team, he and his family have a great life in Canada that will likely keep him with TFC for the foreseeable future, a fact that was confirmed this week by Giovinco as well as his agent Andrea D'Amico.
Arda Turan to Monaco: 35 percent
Between injuries and a lack of trust from Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde, Turan has yet to play this season. The January window could give him an opportunity to find playing time and, while Galatasaray is probably not an option after Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu confirmed he never received an offer from the Turkish club, Turan's agent has a good relationship with Monaco, who are in rebuilding mode after losing numerous key players last summer.
Gigi Donnarumma to Paris Saint-Germain in 2018: 65 percent
Milan executive director Marco Fassone recently confirmed that, should Milan fail to qualify for the Champions League, they'll likely have to sell a top player and everything points to Donnarumma, despite the lucrative contract extension he signed last summer. PSG are looking for a long-term answer in goal and could be helped by the relationship they have with his agent Mino Raiola, who also represents Marco Verratti and former PSG players Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Blaise Matuidi.
Emre Can to Juventus in 2018: 60 percent
The German midfielder has yet to reach an agreement with Liverpool on an extension of his expiring contract and has stated that he's flattered by Juventus' interest. The feeling is mutual, as confirmed when bianconeri director Pavel Nedved described Can as an "extraordinary player." However, considering Liverpool qualified to the Round of 16 in the Champions League and he would be cup-tied anyway, the move is more likely to take place next summer.
