Kevin-Prince Boateng's agent has rubbished reports that the midfielder's move to Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon is on the brink of collapse because of failed medicals.

The agent Edoardo Crnjar says the signing of the deal has delayed because negotiations have not been completed for the deal to be sealed.

A top newspaper in Portugal reported on Wednesday that the Portuguese side have decided not to sign the Ghanaian midfielder because of the poor state of fitness.

Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha reported said the 28-year-old midfielder did not pass the medical check in Lisbon.

However Boateng's consultants Edoardo Crnjar hit hard at the report which he describes as 'nonsense'.

"That's nonsense. The negotiations are still ongoing. We are trying to agree," Crnjar told the Bild newspaper.

There is no word or reaction from Sporting Lisbon following the report by the newspaper.

Boateng arrived in Portugal on Tuesday where he was set to sign a two-year deal with Sporting Lisbon but the move has delayed which seems to have sparked the report.

The 28-year-old midfielder, who is also a German citizen and has played for Schalke 04 since 2013, did not make any comment as he was shown on television at Lisbon airport.

The Royal Blues kicked Boateng out of the squad last May after a shock defeat at Cologne.

Schalke finished sixth in the Bundesliga and missed out on a Champions League berth for the first time since the 2010/11 season.
