Asante Kotoko chief Opoku Nti claims theà moveà to sign Ghanaà midfielderà Rahim Ayew remains on the cards.
The 25-year-oldââ¬â¢s move to the championsà appearedà to have hit a snag after going cold for weeks despite the playerà takingà a medical.
Ayewà wants to join Kotoko in his bid toà resurrectà his career which has stalled since his release from Belgian club SK Lierse at the end of the last European season.
Earlier reports suggested the son of Ghanaà legendà Abedi Pele was making exorbitant demands which saw the cancelled theà move.
But Kotokoââ¬â¢sà interimââ¬â¢sà management head Ntià saysà the club is still interested in signing Ayew but for must wait for theà transferà window toà re-openà in order to activate the move.
ââ¬ÅIt is not over yet as far as Rahim is concerned. Even if weà signà him now, he cannot play for us until the next transfer window is opened,â⬠Ntià toldà Metro FM.
ââ¬ÅSo we are just buying time and in the process raise fundsà toà seal the deal.ââ¬
