Kotoko to play Mamelodi Sundowns on Sunday in Kumasi

Ghanaian champions Asante Kotoko will play Mamelodi Sundowns at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Sundowns are in Ghana on a pre-season training tour and played out a 1-1 draw with Hearts of Oak in their first friendly on Wednesday.

The Premier Soccer League side watched Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium last week when the Ghanaian side lost 1-0 to Medeama in the MTN FA Cup final.

The last time Kotoko played a South African side was in 2002 when they eliminated Santos FC in the defunct CAF Cup Winners Cup.

Kotoko drew 3-3 away and beat Santos 1-0 at home courtesy a late minute strike by Joe Louis.
