Man City offered €40M for Monaco superkid Kylian Mbappe

Published on: 27 February 2017

Manchester City have already failed with a bid for AS Monaco superkid Kylian Mbappe, it has been revealed.

City boss Pep Guardiola has been won over by Mbappe in recent weeks - and was impressed by the teen in last week's Champions League triumph.

However, TF1 reports City offered €40 million for Mbappe last summer, which was immediately rejected by ASM. Red Bull Salzburg chief Gerard Houllier also had an approach turned down.

Monaco are now in new contract talks with Mbappe's camp, but are prepared to sell this year for €60 million if no agreement can be struck.
