Mourinho tells friends: I will become next Man Utd manager

Jose Mourinho has reportedly told close friends that he will certainly become the next manager at Manchester United.

According to both the Daily Mail and the Daily Mirror, sources close to the Portuguese tactician say the move to Old Trafford is almost a completed deal.

Mourinho, who was sacked by Chelsea in December, has been heavily linked with the Red Devils job in recent weeks but reports are now suggesting the contract could be signed, sealed and delivered very soon.

Louis van Gaal's job has been clouded for much of the season and despite improved performances in 2016, the Dutchman could be on his way out this summer - 12 months ahead of schedule on his three-year deal.

Ex-Real Madrid boss Mourinho has spoken of his desire to return to management as soon as possible and has hinted that he will leave London to coach elsewhere in England, which could be Manchester, where he will resume hostilities with former Barcelona rival Pep Guardiola who will be in charge of Manchester City next season.
