Peter Moore named new Liverpool chief executive

Published on: 28 February 2017

Peter Moore has been named as the new chief executive at Liverpool.

The lifelong Reds fan was announced as Ian Ayre's replacement on Monday night and will start work in June. Ayre is moving to 1860 Munich.

Scouser Moore is CEO for games giant EA, having previously been corporate vice-president of Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment.

Moore holds American and British citizenship, and also spent two decades working for Reebok.

Michael Edwards has also recently been elevated to sporting director, meaning Moore will have a more refined role than the departing Ayre.
