Ex-Kotoko versatile player Rahim Ayew has lashed out at the Ghanaian media for the perceived declined of the domestic top-flight.

The first son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele claims the constant criticism of the local media has prevented foreign-based players from returning to the domestic league.

His outburst comes on the heels of the impressive performances of returnees Dan Quaye, Godwin Attram and Richard Kingson for Great Olympics in the Ghanaian top-tier this season.

Rahim, who is a free agent after leaving Kotoko claims the media should be blamed for the turn of event.

“Look at Richard Olele Kingson, Godwin Attram and Dan Quaye. They are all now playing for Olympics and that is good. They all played 90 minutes against Kotoko and won by 3-0. Still some of the journalists say they are old. Who is an old player? he quizzed.

“They are the same people who encourage players to travel and when the players come back to play the local league, they will call the players names. They are killing the game.” he fumed.
