Kuala Lumpur: Thailand, seeking a sixth SEA Games women's football gold medal, opened their campaign with a 3-2 win over Myanmar at the UM Arena.

It was Myanmar, however, who opened the scoring through Win Theingi Tun in the 24th minute.

Thailand, who will feature in the AFC Women's Asian Cup Jordan 2018,  had to wait till the 68th minute for the equaliser, with Rattikan Thongsombut levelling.

Rattikan added Thailand’s second six minutes later but a gutsy Theingi Tun fought back to level proceedings in the 80th minute.

Thailand, however, were not to be denied full points as Orathai Srimanee scored the winner in the 84th minute.
