Swansea fear that Liverpool will try and seal a surprise deal for playmaker Andre Ayew in January, as reported by the Mirror.

Ayew, 25, only joined Swansea in the summer signing from Ligue 1 outfit Marseille.

The playmaker has settled into the Premier League very quickly and appears to already be one of the signings of the summer.

The report claims that new Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is a big admirer of the Ghana international and tried twice to sign him before.

The Mirror believe that Swansea expect the Reds to make a move for their number ten once the January transfer window opens.

Ayew has won 46% of his duels for Swansea so far this season.

Ayew has already proven himself to be a real goalscoring threat, the 25-year-old has scored four goals in his opening eight league games.

Furthermore, the Ghana playmaker has shown himself to be something of a big game player too. Ayew has already scored against Chelsea, Man United and Spurs during his short spell in England.

The 25-year-old is also one of Swansea’s most creative players, with the midfielder creating ten chances, only Jefferson Montero (14) and Jonjo Shelvey (18) have created more than him.

Meanwhile, Klopp’s first game in charge of Liverpool is a tough away clash against Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottennham.
