A number of top Portuguese top-flight sides and Arabian clubs have registered their interests in signing Ghana defender Harrison Afful who has left Tunisian side Esperance de Tunis. 

The versatile player, 28, has ended his six-year stay at the Tunis-based side after the expiration of his contract on 30 June and has rejected a contract extension and now available on the transfer market as a free agent.

It is believed that the former Asante Kotoko player has received lucrative offers from gulf clubs who have been chasing after his signature since impressing at the 2014 FIFA World Cup for Ghana.

While they bid their interests in signing Afful, a number of Portuguese clubs including Vitória Guimarães, Sporting Braga and Sporting CP have all reportedly declared their interests in signing the artful defender.

Afful is capped 57 times by Ghana and has featured at four AFCON tournaments and a FIFA World Cup.

He had a glittering career with Esperance where he won four league titles; 1 CAF Champions League title and 1 Cup match.
