The Women’s League Board have revealed that they are in advanced talks with stakeholders to telecast matches of the upcoming league season.

The fifth edition of the National Women’s League is set to kick off on April 29 with Ampem Darkoa Ladies set to defend their crown. The sixteen team league has enjoyed very little publicity and financial injection since its inception but that could be all set to change.

Vice Chairperson of the Women’s League Board Rosalind Amoh indicated that the finer details of the deal are still being sorted out ahead of the start of the season.

“We were informed from the beginning that Startimes is coming on board as the media partners of the league.

“Basically we could see some of the matches being telecast but we are unsure whether the games will be delayed or will be shown live.

“We have been informed about it all the same and it was based on these discussions that we agreed with the board that some of the pitches that are not up to standard will have to be ditched because it makes no sense to use those surfaces when we are seeking to improve our outlook.”
