Ghana midfielder Andre Ayew has made his 100th club appearance for Swansea City against Huddersfield Town on Saturday in the English Championship.

The 30-year old joined the Welsh club in 2016 from Olympique Marseille on a free transfer.

The Black Stars captain made his debut against Chelsea in the Premier League and also scored on his debut.

Speaking to the club's website after achieving this remarkable feat for Swansea City he said, "This is a special thing for me because this is a special club for me, I think I have something special with the fans,”

“That's why, when we're playing at home, I don't like that there aren't any fans to watch us at the moment.

“I hope they will come back soon. I need them; when I play, I feed off their passion. This is how it is now.

“To play my 100th game will be great. Everyone knows this club means a lot to me. I need to keep on going and hopefully, that 100th game will bring another three points.

“For me, it's a big number. I played over 200 games for Marseille and to get close to three figures here is a good feeling for me - especially to show the fans I'm one of them.

“Hopefully, we can keep going and winning after a good start to the season.”

Andre Ayew's 100th cap game for Swansea City ended in defeat to Huddersfield Town.

The Ghanaian international scored in the game from the spot-kick to cancel Harry Tofolo lead in the 23rd minute.

The Swans lost at the Liberty Stadium after Josh Koroma scored in the second half to give Huddersfield a 2-1 victory.

Ayew has experienced highs and lows in Swans colours, scoring memorable goals against Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool in his debut season, but also seeing the club relegated from the top-flight in 2018.

He helped drive Steve Cooper’s squad to within sight of a Premier League return as they reached the play-offs last term.
