Ghanaian players excel abroad - Ayew scores, Boateng dazzles

Kevin-Prince Boateng put up another impressive display for AC Milan and  former Asante Kotoko defender Issah Ahmed was target Danish League. Ghanasoccernet has more on players abroad.

In France:

Andre Ayew inspired Olympique Marseille to their first win in five Ligue 1 matches with two vital goals.

The 20-year-old doubled the visitors' advantage with a side-footed finish on the 37th minute before sealing the victory over the club he helped gain promotion last season with a follow-up finish after Arles' keeper spilled Andre-Pierre Gignac's effort on the 57th minute.

Andre's younger brother Jordan replaced Valbuena on 62 minutes and was unlucky to have registered his name on the score-sheet.

Sochaux sunk Nice at the Stade Bonal to move to fifth place but Ghana youth Abeiku Quansah did not travel with the team that was hammered 4-0.

In the Netherlands

Mathew Amoah failed to find his scoring boot as NAC Breda managed to hold Vitesse Arnhem to a goalless draw at away.

Delays in documentation kept Laryea Kingston out of action for Vitesse Arnhem.

Others:

Issah Ahmed scored a rare goal for Randers FC who were shocked 3-2 at home by Aalborg BK in the Danish League.

Ahmed reduced the deficit on the 81st minute but it was Danish citizen Jones Kusi-Asare who opened the scoring for Aalborg under one minute.

Right-back Daniel Opare lasted the entire duration of Standard Liege's 0-1 defeat at KV Mechelen in the Belgian Jupiler League.

Germany:

Kaiserslautern became the first team to take a point from TSG Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga after holding them to a 2-2 at the Fritz-Walter-Stadion.

Black Stars defender Isaac Vorsah maintained his position in defence for the Hoffs but striker Prince Tagoe was an unused substitute.

In Bundesliga II, veteran midfielder Godfred Aduobe helped Karlsruhe to nick a narrow 2-1 win over SC Paderborn 07.

In Italy:

Kevin-Prince Boateng gained automatic start after impressing on his Uefa Champions League debut in midweek for AC Milan.

AC Milan failed to replicate their mid-week performance by drawing one-all with Catania at the San Siro.

Boateng cautioned on the 19th minute for rough play.

In the Serie B, Isaac Cofie was benched as Torino piped Novara 1-0 at the Olimpico Grande de Torino.

Four first-half goals ensured Reggina recovered from last weekend's humiliation at Padova to beat Modena 4-0.

AC Milan loanee Dominic Adiyiah replaced Alessio Campagnacci on the 64th minute.

Ahmed Barusso started from the bench in Livorno's scoreless stalemate with Portosummaga.

Barusso subbed Fabrizio Di Bella on the 77th minute.

Scotland:

Giants Rangers hammered a stubborn Dundee United 4-0 at the Ibrox Stadium.

Prince Buaben's effort in midfield was nothing to stop Rangers.

Hibernian are still searching for their first home win in nine games as they were held 1-1 at home by Hamilton Academical.

Francis Dickoh was a member of the Hibs defence that conceded a cheeky goal to deny them the three points.

England:

A 95th-minute equaliser from Darren Bent denied a 10-man Arsenal maximum points at the Stadium of Light.

Asamoah Gyan came on as a 63rd-minute substitute for Cristian Riveros.

John Pantsil was dropped to the bench in Fulham's 1-1 draw with Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.

In the Npower Championship, Patrick Agyemang played his first competitive game for QPR after a long lay-off coming on as a 73rd minute substitute for Heidar Helguson.

Coventry City claimed their first victory in the second-tier League at the expense of Bristol City.

Striker Albert Adomah played full throttle for vanquished sidel. .

In League One, Jo Osei-Kuffuor was in full time action for Bristol Rovers which silenced Dagenham & Redbridge 3-0 at away.
